They have just announced that an extra special guest, award-winning songwriter, producer and composer, ELIOT KENNEDY will be performing, alongside STEVE BEIGHTON and other members of the Acoustic Angels. Eliot’s Christmas single ‘This is Christmas’ will be released on November 11th. All proceeds will be given to a National energy charity for those that are struggling to pay their energy bills – here’s the Spotify link.

The 10th Anniversary Christmas Festival of Music – John Reilly & Friends

10 years ago, singer-songwriter John Reilly and Musical Director Lewis Nitikman played their first ever ‘Christmas Festival of Music’ concert at Sheffield Cathedral to an audience of around 200. Since then, it has become an iconic Sheffield tradition playing for 2 or 3 nights to audiences in excess of 800 but to celebrate this special 10th Anniversary year, we are raising the bar even higher !! This year’s 10th Anniversary concert will take place in the amazing 1200 capacity OCTAGON CENTRE in Sheffield. and is once again proudly sponsored by Norrie, Waite & Slater.
Joining John & Lewis this year will be Stannington Brass Band, Janine Dyer with Sheffield Community Choir, Tenor Gareth Lloyd, Soprano Emily Robinson, members of the Acoustic Angels plus some very special guests

Children under 10 years £5. From 1st September, tickets will be £25. Seats are not generally allocated but will be reserved for groups of 8 or more.

These are socially distanced concerts, masks must be worn on entry unless you are exempt, and whenever you leave your table ie to go to the loo, but of course, not when you are seated.
Doors are open from 7.15pm but the concert won’t start until 8.30pm approx. so no rush to arrive early since you will have been allocated a table. We have tried to do this in order of booking, but in any case, it is a ‘sit and listen’ concert so everyone will be able to see and hear.
There will be waiter/waitress service from the bar with order sheets on the tables, just raise your hand when you have an order and they will come to you. You can do this during the concert, no problem.
CD’s will be on sale during the interval and at the end of the performance, from the table to the right of the stage. They are £10 each and cash payment only.
We hope you enjoy the concert, see you at the weekend.

John Reilly and Lewis Nitikman are delighted to announce that their Christmas Festival of Music WILL TAKE PLACE this year at the beautiful Victoria Hall in Sheffield on Friday 11th and Saturday 12th December
They are currently working on the format and finalising the details to ensure a Covid safe but thoroughly enjoyable Christmas concert. Obviously, given the current situation, numbers will be limited, so save the dates or why not reserve tickets now with Elaine if you haven’t already done so. It will be a little bit different this year, certainly more intimate than before, but one thing is for certain, it will be a wonderful start to your Christmas Celebrations !!

The lucky winner of the Elton John song competition is Martin Street who chose ‘Burn Down The Mission’ as his favourite tune. John and Lewis will be playing the song, along with most of the other choices when they film the ‘Elton Sessions’ concert at Yellow Arch Studios. There was a tie for the most popular song, between ‘Candle In The Wind’ and ‘Tiny Dancer’. Thanks to everyone who entered, we hope you enjoy the video when it’s released on 1st August. John Reilly and Lewis Nitikman have just finished recording and mastering their new song ‘AMAZING LIFE’. The song, recorded and produced at Steelworks Sheffield, has just returned from a mastering session at ABBEY ROAD Studios London and they are very proud of its profound and moving vocals. They will showcase the recorded version for the audience at this Saturday’s Library by Lounge gig – the only chance to hear it before it is released next year. They look forward to seeing you there and to hearing your reactions to their new recording.

Maxwell Thorpe – following his standing ovation at Sheffield’s Greystones last Saturday, and various TV and Radio appearances, Maxwell is looking forward to appearing with John Reilly and Lewis Nitikman once again this year.
He will be joined for both nights by Soprano Emily Robinson, who delighted audiences at last year’s Christmas concert. Musical Director of Sheffield Community Choir and 2nd place finalist on ‘The Voice’, Janine Dyer will also be doing a couple of solos – it’s looking like it’s going to be a fantastic night and a great way to kick off the Christmas festivities. We are thrilled to announce that our ‘Christmas Festival of Music’ concerts this year will take place in the stunning Victoria Hall, just next to Chapel Walk, opposite the Crucible Theatre in the centre of Sheffield It’s an amazing venue, with outstanding acoustics, it’s going to be fantastic and we can’t wait to play there with Stannington Brass Band, the Sheffield Gospel Choir and some very special guests. When the lights go down, it will be truly spectacular !!
Please save the dates for this year’s concerts, Thursday 5th and Friday 6th December, tickets will go on sale at the beginning of July at the same price as last year, just £15 each. The concerts are in support of two very special charities, Weston Park and Assist, we really hope you can join us there.
